Where to buy the new roll
The Salt & Chilli Chicken Roll is available at Greggs shops nationwide, through Click + Collect and for delivery through Just Eat and Uber Eats. It joins a selection that includes the Sausage Roll and Vegan Roll.
The original Chicken Roll, Greggs' first, drew praise after its April debut: shoppers described it as "great" and "easy to eat". Some preferred it to the Sausage Roll, which sells approximately one million a day.
The original is no longer available on Greggs' website, suggesting that the Salt & Chilli version has replaced it.
An alternative to the festive menu
Greggs describes the new chicken roll on its website as a "welcome break from the Christmas chaos". Its arrival follows the chain's Christmas menu, which went on sale in shops on October 22, 2026, according to Greggs' official news page.
The seasonal range brings back the Festive Bake and Pigs Under Blanket Toastie, alongside new additions such as the Millionaire's Doughnut and White Chocolate Gingerbread Cookie.
Greggs says the Festive Bake has a "new and improved recipe" this year. Beneath a crumb-topped, glazed puff pastry shell, the filling combines cooked chicken, smoked ham hock, sweetcure bacon and soft cheese. It also contains pork, sage and onion stuffing, with a creamy sauce flavored with sage and cranberry.
Other savory choices on the Christmas menu include Pepperoni Pizza with Hot Honey, served on a focaccia-style base with jalapeños, red onion and hot honey sauce. Greggs also lists a pot containing six Pigs in Blankets, a Festive Flatbread and a Festive Feast Baguette.
